Colorado Unit 61 Deer Outfitter

I am considering cashing in some points this year to archery hunt deer in 61. Any of you guys know of some outfitters in this area that will do a drop camp for me and a buddy?

I would not suggest a drop camp in unit 61. If there isn't the right trophy in your area...you're stuck there. The fact is there is no place in unit 61 that isn't a "medium" hike from the nearest road.

61 is a great unit but very dense cover during archery season and there is nowhere that you couldnt walk to within a couple hours. Should be a great hunt though good luck.

What everyone else said! All you need is a truck and a tent. ATV might be helpful if you are into them.

Check out Garvey Brothers Outfitters, went on my first archery elk hunt with them way back in the 90's, Stan's son Dustin runs the show now I understand and they take some really nice deer according to their website. I'm considering using them in a couple of years when I have enough points as they can put you on the right land(lower) in the later seasons where the deer will be. Good folks too.
