Where can one find the quotas for the 2013 guide draws? Are they the same as last year?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-09-13 AT 03:29PM (MST)[p]Based on that information, it looks like the tag numbers are up across the board. Easier to draw, but at what cost. I've been trying to decide if i should put it again this season. My concern is that the quality of the hunt will suffer due to the significant increase in tags.

oh its definately suffering, but we gotta match the other states and try to get that buck to doe ratio down to like 15 to 100, and make sure we take care of these guides, no matter the quality...

The number of guide tags are so small, they are almost immaterial. My concern was that the increased guide tags may be an indicator that the remaining non-residient and resident tags will remain at the lofty 2012 levels. In other words, my complaint was with the overall tag numbers, not the guide tags.

my complaint is to both, the tag numbers last year were ridiculous, and there explanation was just like I stated before, they want to have much lower buck to doe ratios and in last years tag numbers ( especially Lincoln County where I live and hunt) it was as if they were trying to get there in one year, doubling and tripling the tag numbers from previous years. And the whole guide deal is a whole different issue. It blows my mind how much the state caters to the guides. If you were to try to hunt unit 231 now days. Good luck, its so overran with guides. From June til January. I think they should restrict the number of guides able to guide each unit, make them apply and draw for the right to hunt a unit. This post will piss a lot of ppl off, but I dont really care, thats just the reality of it. Were not quite as bad as Utah yet with all there BIG MONEY tags that they have taken away from the average hunter, but we are well on the way.. And Nevada does not have a huge mule deer herd like we once did, in fact if you look at the latest issue of Huntin Fool it shows the estimated population of the western states. Nevada is barely over 100k vs Utah 300 k, Colorado 460k Wyoming 480k, California 455k (which I never new they had that many) Oregon 216k.

It sounds as though there is a dramatic increase in guided hunt draw numbers. They normally get there quotas from the previous year overall tag numbers. My guess is that there will be a reduction from the 2012 quotas. So in order to keep NR at the 10% the NR entering the MAIN DRAW will take it in the shorts. Of course you won't know for sure until it to late, but this has happened in the past and will most likely happen this year.
