How much? Look pretty close to last year if I remember correct.

Non-resident prices are tied to the Consumer Price Index, so if the CPI goes up, the tag prices go up. Prices actually did go down a couple of years.

$586 this year, I believe they were $551 or so last year. That was up from $500 a few short years ago, if memory serves.

Almost 100% of early season archery hunts got pushed back to August 31 instead of Aug 25th... Kind of sucks and is changing my plans a bit for this season!

An FYI on non-resident prices. Colorado raised the prices in 2001 and implemented the annual CPI adjustment. Here is what the prices were between 2000 and 2010 (does not include the $1 for search and rescue and WMEF). The bull elk was $550 in 2011 and $575 in 2012.

Looking to put in for colo for first time this year, primarily to build NR points. Since I have no plan to hunt do they have a purchase points only option, like Wyoming?

You must submit the full price up front, and then be refunded all but a $25 PP fee and $3 application fee. For elk, you only need to submit the full price for a cow tag ($350) when you use the PP code.

What happened in 2001? Did management get bumped in the head and realize how much more money they could be making? 40% increases on most tags. Too funny.....
