Hey fellow mm's I just wanted to see if anybody had any info on this unit. I am hoping to obtain some info for the 3rd season rifle. Any and all info is appreciated.

If you can backpack into Castle Peaks or Bull Gulch wilderness you'll do well. If you can't hack hunt the canyons in the north feeding into the Colorado River.

It gets pretty crowded. I've gone there off and on for 10+ years. I'd also look at the other hunt areas since you have 4 choices when you have that license. From my experience, the deer are often lower than the Castle Peaks in 3rd season, but maybe I'm wrong.

The comment about getting away from people is spot on. Try to find some country that not accessible and hang there. Lots of the deer are on private lands, and those areas are heavily patrolled. Be sure to stay on the public lands unless you have permission on the private.

If you got lucky and got some snow and had a boat, coming across the Colorado on the north side should put you on some deer. If it is dry and warm, can be a harder hunt.
