Wyoming Archery Deer?

So, I have been trying to understand the rules about the Wyoming archery deer season... If I am understanding it correctly, you must draw a normal deer tag (I am a non resident) and then you can buy an archery license to be able to hunt in the early archery season.

It sounds like to me that if you draw a general region deer tag that you are actually legal to hunt any general unit even if it does not fall under your region general tag. You are only able to do this during the early archery season though. So for instance, if I draw a general region K tag, I can go and hunt the general units in a different region during the early archery season.

Is this correct?... Or am I not understanding the regulations correctly?

Thanks

You (as a nonresident) are only legal to hut the region for which you are drawn. Residents can hunt statewide except for limited quota areas.

Hunting early with an archery license is clear but about the unit... the regulations about this seem pretty vague and I don't know if I am understanding them correctly... Which is why I posted it up here.

I haven't been able to find a listing of the season dates for archery in the regs. Anyone have any insight?

Archery season is the month of September in most of the areas. But the dates are not set until the May G&F Commission meeting. Those dates will be out later, but you can generally count on the month of September.

Good hunting.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-28-13 AT 10:30AM (MST)[p]Here is the information you are wanting to know and it's in last years Hunting Regulations. It will be awhile before this years proclamation comes out, but it will be similar, although not identical because of changes made in the southern part of the state where they have gone LQ due to lower deer numbers caused by the drought, etc. Anyway, if you click on this link it shows all the season dates for the various units , etc. Go down to page 6-10 and you'll see that Sec. 4 shows the dates for all the archery seasons. Go further down and Sec. 7 gives the NR Region quotas and subsection (a) states: NR Region General deer licenses shall only be valid within the specific region for which they are issued and for only those hunt areas in the region as listed in this section. Subsection (b) then shows the Regions and hunt areas with their quotas. Hope this helps!
