2lumpy, What a great photo!! Do you know where it came from that you can share? A lot of nice bucks laid out there!

BCBoy, Great Dark Heavy Horned Buck...as usual, Thanks!!

Sage, the picture was taken at Pearson Tire's big buck contest in 1965, in Richfield, Utah.

Here's another pic. from the same year. These were the winners, with the heaviest buck weighing in a 233 lbs, widest spread at 33.75". Pearson Tire Company awarded the heaviest buck and the widest buck hunters either a new Winchester Model 70 or a set of 4 new tires.

These particular deer were the "left over bucks" from the Richfield, Utah area. "Left overs" because Sporting Goods stores in Salt Lake City were giving away a new car to their "widest spread winners" so the real special bucks always found their way north and the smaller stuff came to contests sponsored by Pearson Tire Stores in Richfield, Beaver, Mt. Pleasent, and a half dozen other contests in small communities across the State.

I've collected a lot of these old photo's over the years. I love the whole image, the clothes, the vehicles, the hats, the boots, the guns, knives, tents, camps and of course the deer. Seeing other MMers' old deer camp images are one of the things I like most about the MM forum.

Joey,
Here's my best from Utah in 1987. Too bad it's been so long ago.
Sorry for the sideways photo. I'm tech-challenged.

I missed a golden opportunity to photograph lots of huge dead bucks. I used to measure the bucks for the contest at a Utah sporting goods store (Wolfes) in the late 70's and 80's. We'd give away either a jeep, scout or bronco every year.
I thought it would never end..... but it almost has!
Those kind of bucks are getting tough to find on a regular basis.

Zeke did u mount that buck? If not do u still have the horns? If so post up a pic of them now days. Awesome Buck.

I did mount him. He still looks good too. I'll see if I can get a mount photo in the next couple days and post him up.
Maybe I can get the photo points the right direction this time. haha

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

You guys are Awesome!!

Heartshot, That thing is unreal, Thanks! I had a Uncle was a Cowboy working the winter range for the Spanish Ranch, Nv., back in the 60's. Him and his foreman went out and they each killed monster bucks. I seen the Pic's but now they are lost to me. Anyway, the buck my Uncle killed, i think, would be top 5 Book non-typical. He won the contest prizes in Elko that year with the buck, 37 points on a huge high mainframe, but the rack burned with the winter ground shack he was staying in. Sad deal, it too was beyond words.

Keep em coming guys and Thanks again!!

Here's a couple 2011 Ut bucks. I don't know if they're big enough to help your fever Joey but here they are.

My daughters really love hunting and here's my youngest with her best buck.

I know they're not mega-bucks but they are still fun to chase and great to eat!

One like this would do for me...massive, gnarly, non-typical antlers, huge body,rut-swollen neck...an awesome buck IMO.
