Drew fourth choose out for the group this year which happened to be Kamas. Have hunted over near there in West Fork before with mixed success. Any one had any success on the Kamas unit? Points to check out on map before heading out to scout & hunt?

Thanks in advance for help.

lots of private ground...even more hunters. i went up mud flats last year and counted 43 rigs on the way down, from the top to the bottom. unbelievable. saw lots of does, 1 small 2pt. on the ground. in my opinion, WAY too many tags for the area. talking with the others last year hunting there, they felt the same way. good luck. it is no wonder this unit ALWAYS has permits left over. good unit, but you need to know someone with some property to let you on. otherwise, you are just out enjoying the fresh air.

LAST EDITED ON May-30-13 AT 06:35PM (MST)[p]There are places to hunt. I took a 4 point buck off that unit the last year of the 5 units. I took it by Jodanelle. There are nice deer on the unit but the problem as stated previously is the lack of public land and a lot of private lands. I would go into soap stone basin, or the wild life management area outside of sumac. I actually was chasing a bigger 4 point on the wild life management area when I took my 4 point, but the darn thing went nocturnal as soon as bullets started to fly.
