I drew a Henry Mtns archery buck tag. Anybody out there have any info, tips or secrets you wanna share with me...

I'd turn the tag back in, this is possibly the worst year to have that tag.

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

Brent, I would NOT hire a guide unless you have very limited time to hunt. Scout as much as possible pre-season so you can decide what type of buck you want. Take the whole hunt off, hunt hard and keep at it. You'll see HUGE bucks and have multiple opportunities to put stalks on them each day. If you keep trying eventually you'll get it done.

Good luck!

How can he pull that trailer with no hitch on that truck

Brent you best come by the shop and get a hitch put on. LOL
If it is going to be as hot as they claim this year find all the out of the way water holes you can climb to.

I wouldn't turn your tag back, however it is the worst year for water that I have ever seen. But scout as much as possible. Spend alot of time behind glass! take the whole hunt off and hunt hard. I know of a few little water holes and guzzlers. Pm me if interested

lucky. how many points did you guys have to draw out for the henrys. i have 11 now and am getting anxous to draw it.

Im doing this on my phone so ill keep it short but to the person that said it is the worst water year they have ever seen, have you been on the unit yet this spring so far it is a lot better then what it was last year. I already have 12 days in down there this year. right now I am going through pictures from my first batch of cameras that I am playing with and horn growth is looking good so far. Good luck to all that drew we will see you on the mountain. If anybody is looking for help send me a pm.

I had 15 this year, but I know a guy with8 that drew, so keep trying anything can happen...

If I knew how to pm you I would. Thats why I didn't when you pm'd me the first post. Sorry, just a dumb redneck...

Bmeyre,
To check your pm messages if you go out to the main forum page where it has the threads like hunt adventure challenge and mule deer and general hunting Then right above these topics it will say you have new messages in your inbox. Or the other way to look is when you get to that same page where it has the selction for logging on there is a tab for inbox. That is where you will find your pms.

FYI, my recommendation was sarcasm. He has a tag for potentially the best unit in North America for Mule deer. If he actually believed me to turn that tag back in on that little comment then there are other issues to discuss....
Good luck on the hunt Bmeyre! Hope you share the story that goes along with the tag!

At first I thought that you were out of your mind and then I realized you must be just kidding. Thanks mntman for the encouragement...

The best tip you can get is bring 2 extra spare tires for anything you bring that has wheels. Also if its going to rain and you need to get on or off the mountain you better do it a day early.
Other than that bring as many eyes as you can get to come.Shoot the hell out of that bow. Get you a walkers game ear LOL. And start puting some miles on that truck. Im on your way down just pick me up. Also make sure you bring some RED for after the morning hunt MMMMMM.

Cant wait to get back on that mountain.

NOW you guys have to know the different between a HITCH and a BALL MOUNT right, a 24" Drop Ball mount is a fine thing. We make them for all the lifted trucks from 14" to 26" anything with less drop you can buy over the counter.FYI

Now get back to scouting the Henry's.
