Drew a tag on the book cliffs this year with the smokepole, what are the caliber of bucks you would expect to see? and some first hand experience with the deer around the time of the muzzle loader hunt?

:) Appreciate it!

I had the muzzle tag two years ago. We hunted 7 days. I shot a heavy 26' 4 x 5 that grossed just under180. I saw one buck that we estimated at 185 but he wasn't as heavy as the one I shot. You'll see 15 to 20 bucks a day. Lots of 140 to 160 type deer. It was a lot of fun. We hunter on top by the air strip. Good luck! My buddy that hunted with me killed a 200 inch buck in there 4 years ago, I know there in there but few and far between. Find one you like, or get the score and hammer him!

I have an archery tag this year out there and I have hunted the unit in the past. It really depends where you hunt. Roadless is awesome if your not afraid too put on some miles. Here are some bucks that were taken on the muzzy hunt.

I'm interested in seeing your Book Cliffs footage also. I went on a scouting trip out there a couple weeks ago. I saw one smoker and a couple others that had good potential. I'll be chasing them during the rifle season.
