If any of you are not aware of the situation in CA here's an update:

The Rim Fire has consumed over 149,000 acres to date and is only 15% contained. The Stanislaus Natl. Forest is CLOSED. Prime wintering area for our migratory mule deer herds that move between the high country of Yosemite Natl. Park and lower elevations has been lost. This is the deer herd managed by one of the premier mule deer hunts in our state (G-37). Undoubtedly, this deer herd will suffer tremendously, especially if we have a harsh winter this year. Please keep you California hunting brethren and the animals we so respect in your thoughts...and pray for the safety of the brave fire crews fighting so hard to preserve our wild lands in the midst of this disaster

LAST EDITED ON Aug-26-13 AT 06:55PM (MST)[p]As bad as it seems our Californian deer that migrate down the west slope will never have it as bad as Rockie mtn deer that have to endure zero degree temps weeks on end in snow up to there knees and bellies.california deer can all ways if need be move down even lower to where it's a easy 32 degrees only for a few hours in the morning on average a day.

that fire will burn till winter....
this state is going to burn a lot more...the north western part of state is burning as well..
fires are just getting started and it's not even September yet!

The wrong part of the state is burning... Why doesn't the Bay area go up in smoke already..??
