I'm trying to see if anyone on here knows who shot a buck out of the Logan Canyon area (north side) on Saturday morning. It was about a 26-27 inch buck that had 3-4 inch inline points coming off of both his G 3's. It was kinda weak in the front end but it probably grossed 180ish. I watched the whole thing unfold through my spotting scope from about a mile away. The hunter snuck/ran to within 30 yards and shot the buck from a cliff before I could do the same thing! Anyway I would sure like to see some pictures of him up close, all I have are fuzzy pics from over a mile away.
Thanks!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-30-13 AT 08:59PM (MST)[p]My buddy shot a buck on the Cache unit that matches that description almost exactly, except he shot his Sunday morning not Saturday. If you find pics, post them up - I'd like to compare them with my friend's buck.

That sounds like it was me. Here is a pic.

That would be the one!! looks like I might of underestimated him a tad. Looks a little wider than I thought and has better backs. Have you put a tape on him yet? How about a story???

The pic makes him look bigger then he really is. Scored 181. 26.5 inches wide. I had been hunting this deer for a while. Picked him out on a summer scouting trip and watched him a couple times. I almost killed him on the opener but i was a little to slow judging him and getting set up for a shot. Spotted him again on Saturday and hauled butt around the mountain to come in above him. Had the wind and just came over a ledge above him and shot him at about 50 yards. I was only judging him at 165 to 170 so i was pretty happy when i got to him and he was a bit bigger then expected. My best buck so far.

It was actually mine and my wife's anniversary. My wife is great letting me fuel my hunting passion even on our anniversary. Im a lucky man in more ways then one.

Great buck and hell, it sounds like I was dead on sizing him up :) I actually believe I kicked him out the day before from a hillside not too far away. I missed him on the run.

Nice buck! It looks just like a smaller version of the buck my friend shot the day after on the Cache.

shawdawg, seems at least one here knows for a fact that your wife killed this beautiful buck but you are the one claiming to have shot it.

I'd be thrilled to read your explanation. We're waiting...

Nice buck, Shawdawg. Don't even get sucked into this drama. I sure as hell would not explain myself to anyone. Thanks for sharing your story.

Real nice buck your wife got shawdawg. I agree don't get sucked into it. Keep em guessing and gossiping.

Lol dang I thought I was going to rile him up good on this;) I am a friend from usu, man I was excited to see what he was going to say! Nice buck buddy! Tell your wife congrats! Ha ha

I now can see a guy kicking another in his nut sack.
Great looking buck.
I watched the same thing happen many years ago, I still can picture it as it was yesterday clearly. I miss killing one heck of a buck that year waiting on him to walk closer, and then watched him drop in my scope.

Which canyon did you pack him out of? That country is nasty, with a lot if cliffs. Congrats on a nice buck.

Yeah that would make me sick, I am sure we all have those moments of if only and if I Just would of

I was once watching a buck close the distance towards me when he started out at 700 yards away. Coincidentally, he was in the same area as this buck. When he got to about 400, I was starting to get excited because he was about a 24" 4-point. All of the sudden I heard a shot and saw him kick over and die. Someone shot him from under my nose. This hunter was over what I estimated to be 800 yards away. Great marksmanship abilities. Although I dont agree with the whole long range shooting going on these days, it sure is a way to get a buck down before the other hunter does.

Sorry i dont get on here very often. Anybody that knows my wife would know better. She likes her sleep and cant handle the cold. She couldnt pull the trigger either. I tried getting her to shoot a muskrat once and she couldnt do it.
