312" in one day between my Dad's buck and mine :)

Not monsters but decent bucks. I was trying for something bigger but Dad was with me when this guy and two others came out just before dark. After 5 minutes he talked me into shooting him :) Glad he was there when it happened. Maybe next year I can resist his urging and wait for the big one...

We filled 5 of 6 tags, the guy who didn't was hunting for the first time EVER. He seen 10 bucks that first day and shot at a couple. He had some buck fever going on though and missed :) I tried to calm him down but just wasn't happening. Maybe next year. He then had to go back to work. 5 Minutes into the hunt we also had a fawn run past us at around 10 feet, he was getting a little jumpy watching it run towards us, I had to say stand still a couple times :)

Dad shot his biggest mule deer, so he was extremely happy. He tried to find a 175" 5x5 that we had seen before season but didn't have any luck. I was totally surprised that he passed up a 3x3 the opening morning at 50 yards. He isn't one to pass up the chip-shots :) I guess his finger was on the trigger with safety off but he kept hearing me say to not shoot a pisser just before I left camp, lol.

My buddy Bret was able to hunt with us again, and helped Dad get on his buck with me. He even packed out half the deer but just before we started walking out he stepped on Dad's rack and broke the skull plate in half. So he is now Dad's packhorse till he stops hunting out west and Bret isn't allowed to carry a gun till Dad's animal is packed all the way back to camp. LOL.

We do really good in this area each time we hunt it, getting some nice bucks and I want to keep it that way so not much for pictures for you guys, too revealing of land marks.

Good luck to those who still have tags to fill!
Two of my girls came up to help set up camp. They were giggling and laughing so much/hard you could have heard them 1/2 mile away!

I also shot this little fella during first season. It is my 10th bull, from easy draw (0 points) or OTC tags except for one in UT (expo tag). Started hunting elk when I moved out west in 2004, mostly hard work and scouting results in my success :)

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

Looks like you guys do real good in that area. Congrats on the bucks and that is an awesome success rate on the Elk. Way to get it done!
