LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-13 AT 12:13PM (MST)[p]I am looking for some help from all of you in recovering a mule deer that was stolen from a taxidermist shop in Northern Utah County.
My cousin?s son killed his first mule deer this fall on the Utah Muzzleloader hunt. The buck was a trophy for many reasons. First, as you can see in the photos, it's a 29? perfect 4 point that scored around 175.? As I'm sure you all can appreciate, any kid would be absolutely thrilled to take that kind of a deer as their first buck. Alot of sentimental value with this deer as well.
Unfortunately the buck was stolen from the taxidermist shop in Northern Utah County. Now, his family is trying to either recover the buck and find those responsible for stealing it, or replicate the horns from other antlers/sheds that are similar.
Here?s what we are asking:
1) If any person has information about this deer or those responsible for stealing it, please send me a PM here on Monster Muleys, or call/text his Dad at 801-360-9764. There is a reward being offered by the family for information leading to the recovery of this buck and any information would be greatly appreciated
2) If any of you have a set of antlers or sheds that look similar to this buck, the family would be willing to pay to borrow those antlers to make a mold/replica to give to their son. Your antlers/sheds would be returned to you with much appreciation.
3) We could also use any recommendations on someone in Utah that does a good job with antler replicas.
Again, any information and/or help that could be provided in either the recovery of this deer or for the use of a set of antlers or sheds to make a replica would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to everyone in advance.
Kip

I know if that was my buck I would be devastated. In saying that I know the young man who's trophy this is. it kills me to know that this happened to such a great young man because he and his family truly are incredible. Plz plz keep an eye out and ears open in helping him get his trophy back. I know that he would say that his trophy is his memories made on and during the hunt but as fellow hunters we understand the other side to it. Thx in advance for any help on relocating his magnificent animal. I just still can't believe there are people out there that do such things. It's a shame.

Being a fan of this web site, and also the Dad of this young hunter who had his buck stolen. I listened to the advice from the DWR, and get out into the public forums and social media, and get more eyes and ears on the street so to speak. So I leaned on my cousin, and MM legend Kip/Luckyshot to help get the ball rolling....Thanks Kip. I just want to thank you in advance for just keeping an eye out for these antlers. I know it isn't a gagger buck, but this deer is special for more than just being a nice buck, and my sons. With out going into details, suffice it to say my boy has some health concerns that may limit his hunting in the future. It is humbling to see sportsman like "Walleye1121" already offering his awesome buck to use as a template for a repo, that really is a nice gesture...Thanks

The reason for the white-out on my boys face, is he doesn't know that his deer has been stolen, and he has some friends that frequent this site, and I don't want him to hear the bad news in the halls of his high school. I know that finding his deer is slim at best, but I also know that you never doubt the hunting community, because the majority of us are try to do the right thing, and have a sense of brotherhood that we look out for one another. Thanks again for your help.

That really sucks. I can't believe anyone would sink as low as to steal someone's antlers. They should feel pretty pathetic! low life scumbags. I hope who ever stole the antlers reads this thread and does the right thing and returns them. At the very least they should feel like a POS every time they look at the antlers.

I hope you get them back.

That sucks! I hope you guys find it. I would have been devastated if that happened to me. People are messed up!

.....I would put huge pressure on the taxidermist that had possession to recover them....he knows something.....

That really sucks! If it comes down to replicas and you need something to replicate and you see something of interest here let me know! I'm willing to help.

"trophymuley" That pic at the bottom may be a winner. I wish I could use that top set as a match, that is a great set of sheds. My cell number is 801-360-9764 if you could text me or call me, we can chat and figure out a plan. Thanks again for reaching out to help, your willingness to let a stranger borrow your sheds is awesome!
