Nevada 192 Buck

I shot this buck on Friday evening just east of Tahoe. It's my biggest to date and I'm extremely happy with him. I wasn't even sure if I was going to be able to fill this tag as we had been out earlier in the season. My son filled his tag but I was unable to fill mine. My wife was nice enough to let me come up again to give it another shot and I can't thank her enough for letting me do what I love. He's an old buck...26 wide and 15 tall...roman nose...looks to be regressing rack-wise. He is a 4x4 still but maybe next year would've only been a 3x3. His neck was swollen and he was chasing a couple of does. I didn't know he was this big until I walked up on him. I'm not much for scoring but wanted to get an idea of what you think he'll score? 165'ish?

Thanks so all that gave me advice on where to hunt. I put a lot of work into this tag and I'm so glad it paid off. There are a lot of good guys here willing to help a fellow hunter out. I appreciate it guys.

Mmmmmmmmm I love deer brain stew!

Nice buck there Wiszard and your son did well too. Congrats to you both.

My buddy is running a crane and setting a bridge, or something, and he said there's a big 4x5 buck and an albino coyote just east of Reno but it's still city limits! You were not too far away from that area but maybe it's a different unit.

Those darn city buck are the ones getting BIG.

BESS- I got one more hunt coming up....taking my son to try to fill his AZ 20C junior deer tag the day after Thanksgiving. Don't even think about coming over for leftovers! LOL

sweet buck! happy to hear you were able to get back out for another go at it!
Tough to get 165 on basically a 3 point... I'd guess 150-155.
But like the Cat said, you are happy and that is what counts!

Nice looking Buck Steve, Congrats!!

As far as score, maybe not the kind of rack that scores too good but he does look like a fully mature buck and i'll throw in and agree the he may have even been on his downward years rack wise. That's a trophy buck there Buddy...way to go!!!
