170" buck, and frankly, I'd shoot that guy opening day of my LE hunt this year, if I draw...

shoot

possibly shoot, probably pass if it was early in the season. It is one of those tweener bucks. Big enough to be proud of but I'd be kind of sad I didn't wait if it was early in the season.

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

I'm not sure what general season means. But I'd pass him. He'll be a really nice buck in another year; he's young.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-13-14 AT 06:50AM (MST)[p]Best of the bunch so far. Still a young deer w great potential. Next year I believe this buck would make huge strides so I again pass.

175" class deer.

The previous poster mentioned discipline, but to be honest, I really struggle with the whole discipline thing when they get this big. I wouldn't REALLY want to shoot him, but I PROBABLY would.

Shot that bucks twin this last year.Yeah he was younger and would have been a great buck in a couple years, just could'nt pass up them forks.

Down goes Frasier! I guess i'd try and thump that guy.

All these are pretty nice bucks but none of them are the type that i WANT to see on the first couple days of a good hunt. Anything much smaller than these 4 bucks are easy to walk away from but when they get like this, it's tuff for me to say what i'd do because i know i've passed bigger, higher, wider, more points bucks before and felt good about it.

When on a good hunt and seeing 20-30 or more decent bucks a day, what fun would there be in shooting the first one that comes along?

Sure elkassassin... I have a 173" buck and a 168" rack at home, and this guy looks like a twin of the 168" rack with ever-so-slightly longer G2s... Same frame at about 23" and tall... So, I think it's close to 170"... While I'd like a heavier buck, I don't think I'd pass him up.

And we've all experienced shrinkage my friend... :) :)

Great looking ML buck in a heart beat.

If he's as big as most people think, I doubt he'd still be walking, guys that would pass on this type of buck must have it pretty good wherever they're hunting.
No question for me if he's in the 170's.
