160" even with the crabby front. General season I'd dump him first chance I got. I'd also have an itchy trigger finger on my LE hunt if that guy stepped out... :)

Shoot, I like the look of that box frame. Depending on what his front forks are, he may not score as much as the previous buck posted though.

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

Let every one of your PISSCUTTERS grow another year or two & have something worth harvesting!

+1 Bessy
Young and thin-horned on all of them.

Bess is right on. I'd let every one of them go. Those bucks will be good in another year or two. And if you want meat, shoot a darned cow elk or a whitetail doe.

LAST EDITED ON Feb-13-14 AT 10:33AM (MST)[p]I get the outcry for people to let small bucks grow up. I don't necessarily agree with it as everybody hunts for different reasons and who am I to tell them what to do? But I at least get it.

However, it's insane to me to hear people say "Let this deer grow up." Unless it's a LE unit or you have private land where hunting and harvest are controlled, this buck is a shooter no doubt. Telling people to pass on a deer like this on a general season public unit is just insane.

That buck has a cool frame and great backs. In another year he could be awesome with more mass. Another borderline buck. I would probably kill him, though...on the last day of season.

Vanilla...I have killed many bucks of this caliber in my 40+ years of hunting. That is why many of us would lean towards passing this type of buck. Hopefully he survives hunting season and comes back with a heavier rack with longer tines and maybe a cheater or two! The only reason I would kill this buck is because I haven't killed a muley since '09. Even then, he would be a last day buck.

Tuff to let a good buck like that walk unless you know fer fact that there's bigger to be had.

I'd probably take em but never know until that particular moment of decision must be made.

To be clear, I'm not criticizing anyone that says he would pass the buck himself. It's just the guys that say others should do that as well that I don't get.

This buck only needs one more year. With that boxy frame it would be hard to hold off.

Hoping to hunt CO next year with 18 points. That's a long time to wait.

160 inches all day!!
Where I hunt, this buck wouldn't last a day in the open.
I'd take him and be damn proud.
