2012 and 2013 Bucks

My 2012 buck was my first one ever and got him 2 hours in. He weighted around 400 and 10+ years old.

My 2013 buck took 5 very long days of hunting from sunup till sundown and only seeing 6 deer. 4 of which were bucks. One spike, one buck that I didn't get a chance at, a buck that I shot at but missed due to he was moving fast and I only got a small opening in the trees to shoot and missed. Then 20 minutes after that disappointing miss, we are about to sit down to rest, when my rifle is on the ground and my dad says "Big Buck." And a lot happened after that, and I made 2 not good shots, that I will not go into because they are both bad shots, and the one isn't good at all!!! Anyways here is the pics. If you want me to I'll post the pics of the first shot.

Awesome bucks buddy, we all make bad shots every now and then, the good thing is you was able to put him down after you made that bad shot.

Though I've never made a bad shot, I know that some guys do.

It's nothing to be embarrassed about. Learn from those bad shots. The best teacher is our memory. Congrats on 2 really nice bucks. What state were you and your Dad hunting in? Did you get to have either of these bucks mounted?

We are in New Mexico one is from unit 37 and the other 36. No they are not mounted. We still need to finish getting them both done then we are gonna euro mount them ourselves.

Congrats on two great bucks in two years. You have done very well. Excitment gets the best of all of us. That is what makes hunting great. Experience will come and help with that. Don't worry about the little things right now. You did great and you have some great animals there and some great experience to help you along the way!!!

This was only guided by my dad. We just got lucky the first time, and the second time we earned every inch. Where you at anyways?

I applied for elk this year, so if I draw I'll start this year.

One thing I forgot to mention is I hunted one year before I got these bucks and after 3 long days of very few deer and more antlers than the deer seen I left that hunt behind me with my tag in pocket.
