I was just going through some old video and saw this clip. What a day of hunting. Two big bucks together....we got them both. Neat day.

Have any of you guys doubled up on big bucks like that? You and a buddy....on the count of 3? Anything like that? That was a first for me.

Brian-

I love that video footage. I was looking for the link to that video a month or two ago and could not find it. Best of luck to you in Wyoming this year (and next year)!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-29-14 AT 00:32AM (MST)[p]Not monsters but not bad for California bucks,my pal on the right had first dibs because we used his points to draw the tag I had zero and he had 6 or 7.He chose the tall 4x3, they bedded a few yards apart on a flat we creeped up below them his buck jumped up after it winded us and stopped at 50 he shot it went down I waited 5 seconds the other ran up right beside his pal and stopped 20 yards from him and I shot and that's all she wrote.

Founder, being you guys talked about width and score of those bucks, i'm now very curious what they scored and how wide, outside, they were?

Very neat flick!! Awesome Day!!

This is really way back there...early 70's. This is one of my Dad and his buddy's bucks. They were hunting horseback in Nevada's Independence Mts. and had stopped in mid-day for lunch. Dad's friend Ken kept imagining a bedded buck on a hillside across from them...it was pretty thick stuff, and they were not able to glass 'em up. As they climbed back on the horses, the bucks made their move, and they both put 'em down! Two nice 4 points!

Founder,
What did those two bucks end up scoring? and how wide were they? there was a lot of numbers thrown out in the video and im sure you were both very close with the estimates.
one of my favorite clips.

we doubled up in Idaho one year with two good bucks. one was a 28" 3x4 and the other was a 32" 4 point. ill look for pictures.

My buck was 27 inches wide and around 184 gross. The buck James shot was 31 inches wide and I think he said 188ish. Somewhere in there.

Back in the early 70's, my Dad and I were hunting in Monticello Utah. We had parked at the base of 11000 ft Abajo peak and hiked over 2 hours in the dark to get near the top. Just at daybreak two bucks came out of the black timber into a big opening. My Dad was about 50 yards to my right and could not see them. I told him they were there and he asked me if they were big enough. I told him I did not think so. They were 400 yards away, but they must have heard me and both stopped and turned to look my way. Wow, what a sight!

I immediately changed my mind and started shooting. I missed about three times, but learned a valuable lesson shooting uphill. "Hold dead on". I finally nailed one. By then my Dad was beside me and just as the other buck was almost back in the timber, he smoked him.

I sure wish I had some field photos of those two 28 inch 4x4 bucks, side by side in the snow. Still a vivid memory.

Thanks Founder! I was thinking that your buck may have had the higher score. Both Dandys!!
