Co back door open for deer

LAST EDITED ON May-10-14 AT 05:21PM (MST)[p]If you didn't have points coming into the draw and you drew first choice your point totals won't be updated as your point total hasn't changed.

I'll be on the other side of the mountain from Bob with a bow in my hand:)

The mountains, not the hills.

Well wife is at 10 res points now and I am at 11... Hope second choice comes through for us...

Did you check for your current point totals and when the page loads, scroll down to the bottom of the page?

go to the license purchase page, scroll down to the bottom and it will list all of the species you applied for. Then if there is a "500" series code it means you have drawn a tag for that species. If you have an additional point it means you drew your 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. However that code takes a couple extra days to update after the points are, so don't get too stressed :)

Let me guess, you drive a 1 ton with oak trees for smoke stacks, 12" lift kit and 40" tires to pull a single place lawn mower trailer?

Glad to see I did not draw. Want to sit back and watch if point banking gets voted in. I'd prefer to break up my points for some low point high country archery hunts.

I wonder about this backdoor method. It says I gained a point for 2014 but the hunt I put in for can be drawn with 0-1 points and I put in with 5 points. This unit has taken 0-1 points to draw for as long as I can remember so either CDOW reduced tags or point creep just took on a whole new meaning.

Same here. Our unit has been 1 point for years and according to this method it says we did not draw. Bummer if its true.

Look at your points now every thing is wiped clean. I seen the 2014 Stats before they deleted them and it looks like the numbers were all messed up. Some hunts had no non-resident tags at all and some had just A couple. When last year they had allot with the same amount of permits. It looks like A new draw is coming!

Glad I'm not the only one. I applied 4 points to a unit with 100% draw with 3 points for the last two years and I am showing that I gained a point. I called Huntin Fool and they said I'm not the first guy to call with that concern. I have a hard time believing a slight reduction in the quota would affect odds that much.

Yep, my points for all species are wiped out/not there??

Must be having to reboot the system. Here is what they say:

"Please note: preference points and draw results are not official until May 15 for Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Desert Bighorn Sheep, and Mountain Goat and until May 30 for Elk, Deer, Pronghorn, Bear, and Moose and changes can still occur up and until that point."

"NOTE: 2014 Hunt Recap Summaries and Drawing Summaries posted to this page on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 were NOT the finalized statistical reports. The final reports will be posted to this page on May 30, 2014."

Gonna be some mad residents when they redo the draw.

Ok, I just talked to the DOW. They're giving a standard line about the draw now. It goes...............Nothing is finalized until May 30th.

He said don't go by anything you've seen up to this point. I asked if the draw is done, and he said it was done last Friday, and there wouldn't be another one.

So, that's it. They aren't admitting to any mistakes they made. Just wait until may 30th.

I sent an email yesterday to CPW. I asked about the draw and updated points being correct, or not. This is the reply is recieved today.

Austin, thank you for your e mail. Statistics and preference points were posted erroneously on May 14.
These statistics had not yet been verified by CPW staff and were not accurate. Also, certain items (such as online preference point status) do change throughout the draw and validation process. Unfortunately, some of those changes were posted to the CPW website prior to the draw process being completed. CPW is working with IT staff to prevent these changes to the public website in the future until draw results are official.

Draw results will be official and available to the public on the following dates:

May 15, 2014: Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Mountain Goat
May 30, 2014: Elk, Deer, Pronghorn, Moose, Bear

Prior to these dates, the preference point records and draw results are NOT official.

We apologize for any confusion caused. As stated above, we are working with IT to prevent early release of incomplete data in the future.

I hope this helps answer your question, please be patient for official results.
Jim
