so i just learned my brother in law drew the paunsaugunt rifle deer tag with 0 points! yes that's a "ZERO". what a lucky SOB. it seems this happens quite a lot. i would just like to hear everyone elses experience with this.

I drew it with zero and again with 1 as a non residents..
that was a while ago! And now I believe my dry spell
was because I was bragging. I now have over a bunch
Of points and will soon draw in next 3'4 yrs because
of points.
its not what it used to be...

Myself and a hunting buddy had 7 points for an any weapon lope hunt on the Plateau,another buddy wanted to go also but we made him put in solo, with 0 points, and we all 3 drew and harvested by 8:30 opening morning. The odds of that?

I also drew a LE Archery Bull in the SW Desert in 12 with only 2 points. The odds of that?

It does happen, never give up if you can afford it.

Even though it's never happened to me, that's one reason I seldom just buy points! Ya just never know! And it only seems like it happens a lot because it's so dramatic.

I drew once on the Kaibab with no points. First time I'd ever put in for an out of state tag too.
Since then, not so lucky on low/no points draws but I'm not complaining. Congrats to those of you who drew a great tag.

ya every year there is that one person who pulls a great tag with little to no points. im in the same boat as a few of you, ill be waiting for a while til i draw a good deer tag and even longer for sheep... but there is that chance. i did get invited to hunt the pauns with the bro in law so at least i get to enjoy it with him.

Marley- can i attach my applications to yours? maybe that will give me a better chance! lucky dog you. congrats to all who drew.

+1 on "Ya just never know".

That is one thing I like about UT is that you always have of shot, even if it is just a small glimmer of hope. I've been lucky but I'm sure those with lots of points get tired of the lucky ones getting the tags instead of them.

Every OIL tag I have drawn has been with single digit Points.

Every LE tag I have drawn has been with single digit Points.

Ressy or non-ressy states.....

I had 2 points going into Nevada deer draw last year. It was my sons first year to hunt so I put us in as a party and drew 192 which is a late hunt. I think that was pretty lucky. I'm hoping to draw it again this year with 0 points.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

another relative of mine drew a cache/rich antelope tag with only two points. looks like im going on that hunt too! man i wish i could draw a decent tag! its crazy how many every year there are, i know that there is a chance but how often it happens is crazy.
