I was fortunate enough to draw a late season hunt in 161-164 and know I will need some help getting pointed in the right direction. I will be traveling from TN and will likely try to hunt the last 10 days. Any help would be much appreciated

I drew that tag also, unfortunately I am in the same boat as you, I have hunted in NV in some of the surrounding areas but not in these units, Good luck to you, and I will try and stay in touch maybe we can compare notes after we have had a chance to do some research!

Go TO The Nevada Forum, I made a post with the link to what you need and what to do NOW....godd luck on your hunt.

The last five days of the season are always the best, the bucks start losing it for the women. If you get lots of snow the south end of the Hot Creek and Monitor ranges could be a good bet. If you need a guide, get a hold of Nick Perchetti of Timberline Outfitters out of Tonapah and Belmont.

Good Luck Hunting

Congrats Mike,
That by far is my favorite place to hunt muleys. Last year I shot a 168 inch muley on last day in Stoneberger Basin. My buddy had same tag and shot a 176 and change the same day in Monitor range. The deer hang up in the thousands upon thousands of acres of Mahogany and Aspens. If dry hunt high and close to creeks. Hold a tight trigger finger as you will see numerous 140-150 inchers throughout the days you hunt. I chased a few beasts last year but as usual ran out of day light and came up empty. Hope for snow as that is a huge key to monster muley success in that area. FYI this area Stoneberger Basin holds the #4 all time non-typical shot at 355 plus inches. You will see lots of Elk too. Good luck Mike
