021 Archery late Nevada

Gentlemen, good morning I drew the late archery 021 tag in Nevada this year...honstly I didnt put in for it on purpose...I screwed up some how on my app....ow well Im still going to go into this hunt with everything I got. From what research I have done thus far it sounds like it is a weather dependent hunt. I have no problem working my butt off to get it done and puttin in a goot bit of leg work, I will be ordering some maps of the unit here soon.granted I have ALOT of time till this hunt takes place but I would like to see what im in store for/lookin at! I am hoping there might be some fine folks here that would not mind sharing some info, It would be greatly appreciated!

I have never had the 021 archery late hunt (it was an early hunt a decade or so ago, and I wish it still was), but I do a lot of chukar hunting and spend a lot of time scouting, waiting for that day when I can actually hunt the unit. So far I am defying all odds in that respect, and I continue waiting... You mention that it is weather dependent. I am not so sure. There are great bucks in that unit all year long. Sure, more will migrate in during the winter, but more deer does not necessarily mean better opportunity. It is my opinion that the best bucks in the unit spend the entire summer there, and so it will be worth scouting to see what it holds. Many will move down by November, but the best hunting will still be on rough, steep terrain. Make sure you have sturdy boots and get your legs in shape. Learn the road system, if only to avoid it and the traffic it will draw. Good luck.

bullskin, thank you very much for the 411!!! That is great to hear, Im lookin forward to gettin up there to look around! I already ordered the maps for the unit, been on google earth lookin around Im likin what is see thus far!!!

Ike,....what ya think...should we forgo the big game and kill some chukar.....looks like Ill have to throw a shotgun in the truck...
