California results up....

I didn't draw out on my preferred X-zone muley tag but did draw the "C" zones tag for a Muley-Blacktail cross buck hunt on my second choice. Desert sheep, Elk, and Antelope still pending.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-12-14 AT 10:34AM (MST)[p]Unbelievable. Did not draw X9A with 3 points. First year ever since the point system started you could not draw X9A with 3 points. 2, 2.3 and 2.5 the last three years and this year 3.0 doesn't draw. SMH.

Didnt draw but thats Ok.

!! Hats off to California for a realistic draw time !!
Deadline was june 2nd with results happening by the 12th. Wish it was like that everywhere

>Wait a minute...you can still hunt
>in California?

Least for another couple years...A coveted AO tag here, but I'm good!

I didn't draw my X5b deer tag this season but I did draw the tag I have wanted the most....a Northeastern California Bull Elk tag. Can't wait for September to get here.

Congrats Larry!! a Most Awesome tag to draw!

I drew alternate for the same hunt as yours and excepting my close to home deer draw, drew blank on the rest.

california really.THAT IS THE ONE STATE I WONT GIVE MY MONEY TO! NOT that they don't have good hunting if you CAN DRAW.

Struck out on x zones again. Funny part was I tried to get an easier tag so I could get my pops into more open country and nope. Stuck out on Nv. too so once again we will pickup d zones and hunt the back yard. Congrats to all that did draw and good luck!

The only reason that you have not hunted this State is because you have chose not to!

As with all Western States, there are way more hunters wanting the very best limited tags than there are those tags available.

I hunts Bucks here every single year, draw decent to good tags from time to time in between, and don't feel a bit sorry for those that only apply for the holy grail hunts, don't draw them, and then complain when they don't get lucky.

It's your own fault, nothing more, certainly not the States fault!

bbhunter, Congrats on your draw! Hope you are able to make the most of your hunt!

Watch out for the bears!

Ya ....I drew the east LA tag ! I grew up in California each time I saw this post this what I thought of .

I don't just apply for the holy grail hunts. I have been putting in for an antelope tag for 24 years straight without drawing. This is in no way because I applied for just the best hunts I have applied for all of the antelope hunts in California hard and easy but no luck.
I have applied for several of the X zones easy ones hard ones same story. I agree that I could hunt in other areas where there are tags but the two areas I used to hunt years ago for blacktails has been devastated by mountain lions and bears. The last time we went up there was a sign in the campground where we go to watch for bears sand cougars. They were right as we saw four bears and two mountain lions and only three deer in four days. Had a bear right in camp one night and scared the you know what out of all of us and he ramsacked our campground each night.
What we need in California right now is some real direction, like in some of the western states where they are controlling the number of Wolves based on the amount of animals in the zone. Finally some real thought process as to handle the wolves and still have hunting around.

The best of luck to you I hope you get a big one. it is great to hear that someone beat the system and got a great tag. My buddy drew a Antelope tag the first year he put in with no preference points and I just go on and on.

My son drew Doyle Muzzleloader buck.

This makes two good tags for him this year, as he also drew Arizona muzzleloader bull.
