Let's hear what you have to say. How much growth do these two bucks have left in them? How big will they be when all done?

I have always been told that mature deer can grow from 1/2" to 1" a day. so maybe another 15" to 30" to there score now. (give or take depending on feed and genetics) those look like they would both be shooters in my book tho!

All bucks are different. I bet the first one is going to put on a lot more bone. However I would say the second buck is all but finished. Maybe gains a few more inches total. I have found a few bucks over the years the first part of July that I thought would have been ended up huge then come August find out they grew very little. Some just seem to start sooner and end sooner.

Top buck looks to have a few more inches to go. Bottom is pretty much done.

Great bucks! A few inches of growth left for sure on the first buck. Has enough now for me to pull the trigger. Hope you get a crack at them when the season starts.

Looks to me like you found a #1 type buck in that non-typical. I'd be surprised if he doesn't fill out to be considerably over 200"

It's tough to say. Every year is different and it all depends on the buck, but from what I've seen this year it was good early growth. It will be fun either way. I would say the trashy buck is big but I don't think he will get much more. I do think the typical will get some good growth on his 2's and 3's and be a real pretty/big buck, but I am partial to big typicals..

I believe the nontypical has quite a bit to go. The typical will grow a little, but he's mostly done. Not sure what you are thinking, but I'd sure sit on that nontypical. He's gonna be a real stud.

Hope to see a pic of you and him together on about Sept 20th.

At peak growing times they might be able to grow that much fact is that the last month of growing is the slowest blood is slowly starting to cut off and the bone is starting to harden. Those bucks will like just put on tips and thats about it. Decent bucks tho. That nontypical is way cool. Saw a buck this winter that looked similar

Based on what I've seen with similar looking bucks, and how "bulby" some of the points are, I bet that non-typical will still split once or twice on that right antler in the back.

A few years back I photographed this buck on the 30th of July, and killed him on the 3rd of Sept. He put about 4 inches on each rear tine.

In the top photo, he hadn't split on his left G3. That was on the 30th of July. I just measured it and from the split up is 4 inches.
The fronts didn't grow that much though, maybe just a couple inches.

When I saw him scouting I thought he was nice, but not a taker. When I saw him on opening morning and took these photos, I knew he had put a lot on and was definitely a taker.

That heavy non-typical in the top photo of the thread just has me wondering. He looks like he has several inches to go based on just what he "should" look like. What would be a normal look. But there ain't much time left. I'll have to take another look in late August.

I'm sitting in the pines trees about 120 yards from where I'm guessing the buck in the top two photos is bedded. Spotted him this morning. After some dudes on horses scared him, he went to the bottom of the canyon and fed until noon.

My original question was on how much more he'd grow. It wasn't as much as I expected. About 2" or a hair more on all back six tines. And about an inch or a bit more up front.

He looked big enough for me, so I'm hoping he feeds my way in a couple hours.
