I've still got a while until my hunt starts, so I tend to spend a lot of time out chasing deer with my camera in order to get me through. Here's a couple of Antelope Island bucks that keep me dreaming. Enjoy.

Just for fun, which buck scores better? For reference, the buck on the left is standing about 5 feet behind the right buck. This photo is also a good example of how ear length can differ between bucks, even in the same area.

I measured their ear spread with a tape on my screen.....they're the same.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-24-14 AT 09:21AM (MST)[p]I measured the ear spread on my screen as well, and they are not the same. I estimate the left buck's ear spread is at least two inches wider than the buck on the right.

I agree with you.
I think the drop tine buck will score better by at least 15-20 points/inches.

Look at the horn on the left of the buck on the left. Both of these bucks are non typical.

I agree....went at it a different way blew it up so left bucks ears touched the side of my screen. ..slid the right buck over and there was some space on the sides of screen

He wouldn't rank as high in the non cat with just 1 kicker....but I guess u could put him in there

The left buck currently has 3 extras, two on the right and one on the left, so I'd call him a NT as well. The left cheater is actually broken off, but held in place by the velvet. He'll loose it when he rubs. The 4 extras on the right buck definately put him in NT status. He is also the bigger of the 2. Theres a guy that watches them a lot and swears the tall buck is over 200, but I don't see him even breaking 190.

Hey Archerycrazy,

That's a good point - noting how different the deer?s ear size is - it can be misleading. Regarding size, my guess is the big eared buck may measure larger, the forks are way deeper. What did you come up with?

Hey archerycrazy, very nice pic man!

What equipment you using?

The only way the one on the left lives is by staying next to the buck on the right. Both Awesome bucks. Maybe in a year or two they will be on the hit list.
