Has anyone been hunting with or heard of Bucks and Bulls Guides and Outfitters in northern Utah? I have an opportunity to go on a mule deer hunt with them this coming November and wanted to get some opinions. Thanks!

I have never hunted with them, but did some pretty heavy research on cwmu's. I must have called a dozen or so property operators they were all very UNHELPFULL and acted like they didn't even want to deal with you let alone answer a few simple questions. Really turned me off of the cwmu program. Then there was the bucks and bulls guys, they were very professional and happy to answer my questions. After my conversation with them over the phone if a guided hunt is what your looking for I wouldn't hesitate to book a hunt with them. Seem like a good group of guys. And they do pump out some dandy bucks.

Im not looking for an estate hunt. They said its 2 hours north of Salt Lake City on 10,000 acres. Im pretty certain its not high fence. Is November a less desirable month to hunt Muleys vs earlier in the season?

Muley bucks rut in November so it's the very best time to hunt them if you can get a tag for then. Unless of course you are hunting really high and the does are all low.

It's hard to say if you are hunting a good time for them without knowing where it is... But I'm going to guess they offer the November hunt because the deer move into their property for the rut. If that's the case - I'm guessing you will have an awesome hunt.

Bucks and Bulls used to guide on Deseret. If I remember right, Kim Bonnett ran the operation and Mike Eastman would hunt with them quite often. I think I heard that they no longer guide on Deseret, but I would guess that one of the surrounding CWMUs is where you would be hunting. My guess would be Hell Canyon CWMU.

I think you would have a good hunt there in November.

It won't be a high fenced hunt. A November hunt on there property this year will be awesome. Deer herds in the region are on the upswing and antler growth is very good this year. The areas they hunt are big buck factories. Genetics are second to none. I would expect 180+. Your in for a hell of a hunt.

I used to guide for Bucks and Bulls for about 6-7 years and have nothing but great things to say about Kim and Travis. Kim has been an outfitter longer than I've been hunting. They have some great properties and really good guides. As far as I know they have two or three leases in Northern Utah. One that borders Deseret and another that is not far away. Both would be great November rut hunts.

You will be hunting with an outfit who is honest, has integrity, and dedication. What more could you ask for?
