It's a crazy story We were back packed 8 miles for a week....We were spotting elk and deer in a Basin that's was 1 mile across.....elk and deer were on the far side every morning for the first few day we just watched to see what they were doing....on the 4th day we spotted a good elk bedded down So Jake decides to go after it ....(Jake had a bull tag and an Archery tag) So he goes down into the basin and gets about 100 yards away from the Elk (5X6)...and a rag 4 bust him and gets up and runs towards the 5x6 ....and spooks it out of his bed....Then Jake decides he will still hunt the other side of the basin and just stay out the rest of the day.......about an Hour later he spots a deer behind a dead log laying behind it and looking his direction....Is hard to tell how big he is because of the dead branches on the the big log......the deer is facing him but doesn't seem to be alarmed.....Jake slowly uses is range finder then slowly puts it back in his pocked....57.8 yards.....He slowly nocks an Arrow draws back checks bubble and 60 yard pin and lets it fly......hits a little high but the Grim Reaper does its magic ....deer down! I don't think I've ever seen him so excited! Great hunt with my two boys! Hard core hunt... I'm 62 and will do it again next year.

Awesome deer..!! And I love the scenery there in the background. Looks like some thick stuff. You guys must know how to hunt..!! :)
