All you rifle hunters know what I am talking about, does it get any better in the morning than the smell of a fresh popped cap. Oh the smell brings memories and heart pounding times on the mountain.
You stick flippers have had your chances now comes ours, can't wait for opening morning. Anyone else out there smelling the gunpowder?
What's your favorite story about opening morning when the shooting starts?

I will be packing a smoke pole in less than two weeks! Been looking forward to this hunt with my old man since last season ended! Dad turns 68 next month. Not too many hard core hunts left in him so we're gonna hit it hard this year and enjoy some good times with great memories! Scouting has turned up some good 4 pts. We are optimistic AND great ful to both be healthy and able to spend time together doing something we have enjoyed since we were young! Memories last a life time........make the best of every experience so that your memories are filled with amazing experiences! Good luck to all the smoking barrels out there!

My dad and I went on one other Muzzy hunt back in 2009. It was a second choice area with few deer. Though we had a good time with one another, we never did get to smell that awesome powder smell...

We are hoping this year will be very different. We have tags in a decent area, and we're takin the whole family. Can't wait to pop a cap (literally) on a slick-skinned, hard-horned muley. :)

i know what you mean I am 60 and my son is 37 and we have been doing this since I carried him in a backpack when he was a baby and went with me.
I cherish the times we have together and yes my years for hard core hunting are getting somewhat limited so we are hitting it hard also. The word is good in our zone and lots of bucks should be a great hunt the best to you and yours

Saturday morning, i'll be out after them myself. Love it!!!

Good luck to you guys!
