Anybody had any luck on this muzzy hunt this year?

Been helping a buddy, haven't seen anything worth putting a tag on yet.

Heard there was a nice buck killed on the opener.

Anything exciting happening on this unit Smitty? Been contemplating on applying for this tag but not convinced yet.

Depends on what kind of hunt you're looking for.

Lots of deer, small bucks, easy access. Not a trophy unit. There may be some big bucks killed once in awhile, but overall, not very good. In my opinion anyhow. We'll see 80-100 deer each time we go, but the biggest buck has been 175 or so.

We are taking our boys on Saturday if my buddy hasn't tagged out by then and we'll get a buck for the kids. His boy is 5 and mine is 7.

I just got back from my hunt on the mountain. I would have to agree with smitty on my assessment. A lot of deer, low trophy quality, but extremely fun. I saw hundreds of deer and a lot of bucks but nothing huge. All of the older, larger bucks had poor antler configurations, (i.e. lots of 2x3, 3x3, 3x4, etc). Just talking to some of the folks there, an occasional monster gets killed, but that is not typical.

After looking at numerous deer, I finally ended up taking the three-legged buck with the long droptine. None of the other deer really interested me and this one was just too unique. More importantly, I was able to take my oldest son who is obviously limited in the type of hunt he can participate in. To me, this was the perfect hunt for our situation, and I am happy we got to share it together.

Its all about memories! That pic tells me you made some great ones for you and your boys! Congrats!!!!

Very well done on that hunt. Could not have done it any better. Good on you and great memories there for life!!!

Very cool buck, that's great you were able to get your boy out there with you.

I know a guy that killed a 28 wide 3x4. It's a nice buck. Big forks, probably scores close to 170 even as a 3x4. He said the same thing about seeing a lot of small bucks. He said the 3x4 was the biggest buck he saw on the hunt. I'll see if he will let me post a pic.

"Go hunt for meat at Walmart."

We are headed out tomorrow to finish the hunt off.

I took my daughter on the Wyoming side after coyotes and noticed quite a few deer migrating with one giant. Maybe tomorrow will be the day?

I'll post up whatever happens.

Come on SMUT!

You are Huntin Bucks!

Not Dogs!:D

Good Luck!

It's not my tag Bessy. The hunt is getting perty tuff with the rut winding down.

There may be a dinker buck get smacked tomorrow though.

So I was out in the Woodruff area putting some time in on a late cow tag. Didn't see any elk or sign down low so I decided to head over to the Crawfords to see what was left after this years hunt.

HOLY SHIZ.. I spotted a massive buck around noon. He is pushing mid 190's with what I believe to be a 8" dropper on his left side. Couldn't get my camera on the spotter quick enough as he disappeared in a shallow ravine.

Anyone see a buck with this left side dropper? He was truly a buck of a lifetime
