Hey there, well I don't know much. I can tell you that I know that 4 people put in for this unit last year. Max pts was 2. That there was only one public permit. Hope this helps.

I called the guy last year and he basically told me that the hunt sucked. He said that there are very few deer on the property at times. That being said he did say that 1 hunter got a decent three point.-----SS

Don't believe me, just get the tag, it takes no points. The operator said that their primary reason for organizing the CWMU was to hopefully get elk tags someday. If you look at the map for the CWMU, you might notice some problems if you are familiar with the canyon........or you could just call BS before you know what you're talking about. Anyone who knows CWMU's knows well that there are good and bad. There are antelope CWMU's that often don't have any antelope on them. --------SS

all cwmus are bad!! a public rip off...1 for the public 9 for them.the dwr needs an azz kicking for going along with this, rip off of the public wildlife!!!!

+1. The least the cwmu's could do is give the public guys a fair shake, instead of treating them like crap. Sure would like to see the division regulate more strictly and look out for the general public instead of catering to the landowners. That being said ther are a few, and I mean damn few that give the public "peasant" folk a great hunt. To those few, thanks.

I find it interesting that the general consensus is that CWMU's treat public hunters bad, yet all units receive at least average reviews from the public hunters. In fact many times the private hunters rate the units far worse. I have hunted three. One was great, one was fair, and one wasn't good. I rated them accordingly. I think that pics of all animals taken on a CWMU should be public record. Then we could see the difference between what the public and private tags take.--------SS
