If you could have any Unit in WY for Mule deer what would you choose. It seems easier in Colorado. Most of the 4th season Units would be the best choice for a booner buck.

There's been lots of discussion about this topic in the Wyoming forum.
Take a peek and you might be surprised what you find. It's not all roses in their LQ areas.
Good luck, t12.

Well having been in Wyoming one time in my life just passing through for Colorado right now I would just about take any unit. Have 7pts going to try our luck in the draw this yr. unit 90. Or 130 Or 101 would work for me.

Have hunted G, then H, and finally 128 two times. Here's my comments.

H - Most beautiful country in the West, nice bucks if you look.
G - even better than H, but ruined by people ignorant in the ways of hunting mule deer.
128 - the most fun you can have, from a pickup. The walk-in Meadows areas in the Res and all the breaks are where the big guys stay and it is a great hunt.

I was at the Harrisburg Pa Sportsman's Show a month or so ago and spoke with several WY outfitters. I was surprised to hear similar responses from them. I have max deer points and no one really tried to convince me I should put in for any particular unit. After the last couple elk hunts I'd like to hunt a late season where I could glass up a lot of deer and try to be a little selective.

I think I'd choose the late 105-106 tag. I know its probably not at the top of other peoples list, but if I had that tag and some weather, I'd be a happy hunter.

Being a Wyoming deer max point holder is starting to feel just like a Colorado elk 18 point holder every year.

Zim , wishing I was at 18 ppt in Colo but I'm setting at Max in Wyo and struck out again even forking out the extra money for special draw. Looking to burn my 12 deer pts in Colo in an off unit , then move my efforts to less popular muzz/ arch hunts where 2-3 pts gets me hunting . I truely feel for the younger generation of hunters. Even though it's tough to draw quality tags in my home state of NM at least it's a clean slate each year keeping majority of people in the game

After 20 years I regret buying 90% of the points I've accumulated. They've just become pawns for states bait-n-switch money making schemes. Selling me the opportunity to NOT go hunting. Been better off hunting 2/3 point units in 2/3 states. That's it.

I agree, have 20 Az elk and now they just played their little game. I have 16 or 17 Colorado elk points, the last time I drew it was with 2 points, that same hunt now takes around 20. Amazing, I get more disgusted every year.

I my self have not missed out on any hunting, but have built a large pool of points and it has made a dozen tags available to me that are now like an otc tag,I believe that I will never get to use all these tags. soon my max pts for wyo deer will also be a tag to have when I want jt and it will be 102, cant go wrong there.
