Who likes 3 points?

I'd shoot him every day of the week and twice on sunday! Thanx for postin the video.

I do, I do, especially ones looking like that. Pig of a body on him too, thanks!

Id smoke that thing just about anywhere.

Beautiful cape too.

I like 3 pts. I like 3x4's too. Especially when they're heavy with long points and wide! Score is just a number anyway...

I do! In my younger days I was a "meat hunter". I would pass on a few smaller bucks, then settle on any ol' "pisscutter" that suited me. Plus, there was always an adventure behind every buck I harvested. This one, I'd hunted for three days, and all I'd happened upon were forkies. I gotten pretty discouraged; when I stumbled upon a bunch of SEVEN bucks, two of which were dandy mature bucks. Excitement and greed took over, and I couldn't decide which nice buck to shoot at, and before I knew it, they had all scattered and run off. Foolishly, I ran after what I thought was one of the bigger bucks. I came upon a buck and made a poor shot, angling away, but I anchored him. After a few minutes of fist-pumping, I walked over to the buck. You can imagine my surprise when...talk about ground shrinkage...I found to my dismay I had shot what was probably the SMALLEST buck of the group! My only consolation was that he ATE good! Deer hunting... for me ALWAYS an adventure!

Here is one I filmed on the winter range this year...I'd shot him during hunting season...

Not quite as big as the others...BUT I was impressed that this big ol' ruttin' 3-point had a neck almost as wide and thick as his body...and really deep forks!

LAST EDITED ON May-23-15 AT 08:49AM (MST)[p]Three points aren't a bad this in the wild only when you are managing or growing deer. In the wild it is more of the hunter that is tied to the B&C book by his umbilical cord where the problem lies. Point = mass and if you don't have at least 4 it doesn't make the B&C minimums. My problem is those that degrade the deer with a remark like it is only a 3 point. This one is exceptional and being late November and his rutty neck doesn't lack the eye candy appeal.
I look at a deer, or elk or any thing I am hunting as a trophy he has lived, and survived when challenged by every hunter before me.
Give the animal what he deserves, the respect for his accomplishments, he deserves it.

Boom. I once chose a big 3x3 that was with a for sure net B&C typical 4x4. The 4x4 had pretty close perfect with zero deducts and tines looked right. The 3x3 was just bigger and looked badder. I saw them over several times before the season and made my choice before opening day. I have posted the picture here before. They were side by side. To me hunting is recreation, not competition. Big bucks are cool, no doubt!

I couldn't agree more Elmer. Hunting is recreation, for most of us. It's a different experience if it's a business or a necessity. imo.

What a great looking buck. Thanks for sharing.

This is one of my three points from the past. Muzzleloader season from the mid 90's, second or third year the Utah Muzz season went from the end of October to the middle of September.
