Fishlake Unit 25a

I finally drew this tag. I have not hunted this unit in over 10 years. (I went back to hunting the Manti but with the change in zones and the insane number of tags they give out on the Manti I decided to go back to Fishalke)

For those of you that have hunted it the last couple of years how has it been? Are you better off over on Mytoge or Hightop areas?

There may have been a slight increase in the number of deer on the Fish Lake than there were ten years ago, but very slight, if at all. The unit was still in decline ten years ago so it my not be back to the 2005 populations yet.

Based on my observation, I don't think you'll see much difference in the distribution of deer between Mytoge and the High Top area, it should look about the same as it did ten years ago.

A few more cabins have been built on the west end of Mytoge during the last ten years. Other than that, you won't notice much difference.

A 500 acre fire burned along the south side of the highway, from the Quaky Haven cabins area, across the road and up through Rush Springs back in April but it shouldn't alter deer behavior much.
