Ok, so I messed up on my Nevada app and drew a unit I have no idea about. Units 011, 012, 013 archery hunt.

If anyone could help me out at all I would be extremely grateful. I know many areas of Utah and would be willing to swap info, or trade for a goose hunt.
Thanks in advance.

It's usually disappointing to see somebody with only 1 post come onto a forum and ask for free info when they haven't contributed diddly.

But since you did recognize this and offer an exchange of intel.....I'll give you what I know. And, no, I don't need your intel. No PM's please.....everything done right here for all to see.

I hunted antelope there in 2010 an saw a few muley bucks.......and some great looking big buck country. A couple whoppers.

What kind of buck are you looking for? What kind of experience do you have hunting and whacking muley bucks? Got a map yet? Are you willing to pay a trespass fee to hunt private?

I get it... And thanks for the reply. Im really torn wheather to turn my tag in, or try making an 8hr drive to scout every 2 weeks.

I would say im a fairly savvy deer hunter. I have harvested 2 bucks with my bow. Both In the 180" class.
Realistically, I would be looking to harvest a buck of 170" or in that range.
General info is all I'm looking for.
And yes I would be more than willing to pay trespass fee to hunt private.

Got a map yet?

The top of Fox Mtn up near the radio tower had a lot of deer for that area. The brushy benches and basins on the upper southern and western slopes of Fox Mtn had bucks. Not in the Mahoganies.........but in the brush/feed. Great open country for glassing.

Also saw a lot of deer sign in the low hills just south of the dirt road between Vya and Denio........just 3-4 miles east of Vya. Lots of feed and open country.

Hays Canyon Peak used to be famous for many big bucks. So did the Vya Rim.

Which areas does NDOW website suggest??

The ranch with hayfields just off the highway between Cedarville (south and closer to Cedarville) and Gerlach right at curves in the highway at the dirt road turnoff to the east that heads toward Fox Mtn was loaded with bucks. I believe that Cherry Mtn is right there as well?? These hayfields are west of Cherry Mtn.

This first pic shows a 180" buck. The second shows a 200" typical bedded in the alfalfa right in the center of the photo. Look real hard and you can see his antler tips right at the edge of the yellow area. BLM land is right nearby if you could catch these bucks wondering off the private into the sage to bed for the day.

Thank you that's lots of good info. I will have a detailed map of the area in the next day or two.
I will probly head out there next weekend. I will be happy to report back what i see.
Btw do you know what trespass permits cost, or who I would need to contact?
