Anyone got any stories of their success or failures on this hunt?? Even better does anyone have any pictures?? Looking forward to my first hunt in Colorado this year

Tough unit to hunt and find a biggin' in the 3rd season unless you get weather. If you do not get weather, you will have to still hunt the dark timber and aspen very slowly. It is a weird area. When I was up there I didn't see a deer for 2 days and then the rut hit. It was the 17th of November and deer came out of every nook and crany. Chatted with a guy who had a buck tag for the 3rd and saw 1 doe. He was trying for a cow in 4th along with me.

Hunted it hard in 3rd season for a week. Saw deer, not tons of them. Settled on a 18" 4-point last hour of last day. Passed on a couple 3-points in the 23-24" range. Tons of hunters on public. Tons of elk hunters. Best area is on Private. There is a reason this hunt takes 1 point to draw, it is an opportunity hunt.

I had this tag last year. I had a riot. Saw tons of deer, and my buddy and I each shot bucks over 175. I read a lot of people that poo-poo this hunt, and I can't wait to head back next year.

I had the third season tag three years ago. Hunt was a blast. Lots of elk hunters and lots of deer. Saw one buck pushing 200 and ended up killing a 31"+ 5x5 that scored either 192 ot 194. Can't remember. Glass, glass, glass and then go kill!
