Colorado 34 3rd season

My group drew this unit this year and was hoping to see some deer and elk pics. I have never hunted 34 but knew it was easy to draw and wanted to hunt Colorado this year. We are going to buy elk tags to accompany our deer tags as well. Ive read lots of road hunters but the guys willing to get into the steep canyons have success. I also spoke to the Fish and Game and they said deer numbers are way down but elk are good. Im not looking for honey holes just looking for a fellow hunter who is willing to lend some info or pics.

I will be hunting 3rd season in units 35,36,361 for the first time too.. From what I am gathering pray for snow... Good luck I hope your hunt turns out great!! Good Luck

YW. Everyone else: Please, please stop sending me PMs asking me how to hunt this unit. CPW pays Hunt Planners and DWMs to provide you w this info so contact them. I have never hunted deer in this unit, so my advice might lead you to a grouse or marmot but no deer. Thanks in advance.

There is a reason 34 tags are leftover every year. The unit is very poor and access is difficult. Having hunted the unit 3 different times my opinion is to hope for no weather so you can get on top. Hunted it 3 times only because I thought maybe it was just me. It wasn't me and my hunting friends are still mad I talked them into going back. Just like any unit, there is a chance. Just way lower chance than many other units that can be drawn on 2nd choices. Sure someone will disagree, but 5 tags in the unit with all types of weather are what solidify my opinion.
