Sleeping Buck

What a cool thing to get on video. I was still hunting a patch of lodge poles once when a string of does ran across my feet. I smacked the last one on the butt as she went by but have no video.

Cool video...I once snuck up on a nodding bull elk...I sat down 10 feet from him and watched him not for about 10 mins before he woke up...something I'll never forget sure wish I had a camera!

Back in the old days when i'd get a early start on the deer season having bought a new recurve, no sights or anything, and cedar shafts, i'd sneak up close to bucks like that. I'd still manage to miss them! :)

There was a split second there in that vid where things could have gotten dicey real fast!

This video is AWESOME..!! I didn't think the buck was alive until he poked it the second time... Even then, the thing jumps up and turns to see what's poked him... LOL Love it..!!

Years ago, I was doing stupid, pursuing a buck I had just jumped out, when running full-tilt I jumped over a log at the same time a doe bolted from where my feet landed. I was so astonished, I fell backward onto my butt as the doe streaked away! Almost landed onto her back! :eek:
