CO Hunt PICS

Had a awesome trip to CO this year. Me and my buddy were bummed out we did not have a early bow hunt so we started looking for some land owner tags. We had a super hard time coming up with 2 tags in a decent unit. At the last min we found out from another rancher a guy had a couple tags for deer. They were not for a really sought after unit but they were 600 bucks and it got us hunting in CO where we love to hunt deer. We really had low expectations for this hunt but we told each other it beats the heck out of work. The tags came with a small ranch to so what the heck lets go. We had a great time saw quite a few pretty nice bucks and even got on some bugling elk but could not close the deal on an elk. We both went there thinking we would shoot the first decent buck that gave us a chance. After day 2 we decided we better up our standards a bit because we had seen a couple nice bucks. My buck is the first buck. I sat and watched him feed towards me for a bit before i decided i better shoot this buck. Glad i did. I was one happy guy. He went 60 yards with the rage in the cage. LOL. MY buddy shoot his the 5th morning. There was a really big 27 to 28 inch 190 type deer working his way through the sage. I stayed back as a spotter. He ran to cut him off. when my buddy left there was 2 bucks. The big one and a small forky running with him. He got to the tree line where the bucks were headed. Well unknown to us there was 2 other bucks in there too. He got in the trees saw a big tall buck with big backs from a side view through trees and thread an arrow to him. He smoked him. He went 25 yards. It was then he realized he had shot the wrong deer. To make it worse the big one ran out and just stood at 70 yards begging to be shot. haha. Thats the way it works sometimes. Maybe next year. We both went home supper happy and cant wait for our next hunts coming up!

Great job, way to take a couple tags and make the most of them. Any time you can be out hunting beats the heck out of sitting home.

Absolutely awesome trophies!
If those two bucks walked past me, I dont know which one I'd shoot!!
But I'd love to be out in that dilema!
Thanks for sharing your success.
