I have finally decided that I HAVE to go to Sonora to try and kill a big ole Mexico Mule Deer.

I am booked for January 19-25th.

I am SOOO excited. Any advice or recommendations from anyone who has been down there before?

Advice: Don't pass up a outrageously huge typicals trying to find a big non-typical. :) :) :)

I'm excited for you. Good luck!

You are going to have a blast!

What I wish I did more of - Take pictures! Take a nice camera and take tons of pics! If you dont have a nice camera, buy one. It will be worth it.

Buy a phoneskope that you can use to take pics of giant bucks. You will wish you did when you get back.

Enjoy the food, I loved it when I went.

I have never hunted there, but I would keep in mind that it's still a hunt and not everyone comes home with a big buck.
I have had friends come home empty handed and very discouraged.

You will have more opportunity there than most places, but there are no guarantees.

I hope you have great success, but if not enjoy the experience.

HAHA...you know me, that is the only place I shoot them. And I will bring lots of ammo!!

Focus on the hunt! Not the senioritas and tequila! ALOT of guys go down their and absolutely lose their mind and end up spending most their time and money in the strip clubs or massage parlors down there. If your serious about getting a big buck take my advice, if you just wanna have a good time don't. I have 2 close friends who have guided there for years and some of the stories they've told me about clients are crazy to say the least.

That is not a worry. I have been to a Mexican Strip club.......and NEVER will again. There are just some things that you will never forget. haha
