More Book Cliffs Success

The Book Cliffs was more challenging than i had thought. i arrived Friday afternoon and left Thursday morning. i hardly heard any shooting. i seen 1 person tag a 2 point and 3 other hunters bag 4 points. the biggest deer i seen up until Tuesday was a small 3 point. Tuesday night i seen a respectable, tall 3 x 3 and almost took it. Patience paid off, on Wednesday morning i found this 4x4, one look through the scope and i knew this would be the biggest deer i could find.
I would like to thank everyone on this forum for the input on hunting this unit. i took all the information to heart and i believe it helped tremendously.
for any one that was down there, i was camped in the tent by Rabbit Mountain and drove the orange jeep JK

They best thing about today's Book Cliffs Bucks is the capes they have. I think they look awesome. Horns aren't what they used to be but the capes are cool.

Great buck soffa. I hope you enjoyed the hunt. We talked a little in July did the roads get bad after that big storm Sunday night? Where did you end up hunting? I was pretty close to seep ridge. Lots of hunters. Very few shooter bucks. Lots of fun though. Congrats!!

Thank you, and yes i took all of your advise. i hit every road you suggested as well as many others. most of the deer we found were off of Atchee Ridge. my walking days are over so we covered a lot of country. spent hours looking through spotting scope and binoculars. I had a fantastic time. after bagging the buck as you know, that's where the work started. i could not have done is with out the input of hunters like you. thank you again.

Way to go Soffa..!! So glad you were able to show some patience and that your hours of scouting and glassing all over paid off..!! That's a great looking buck for sure. I'd wager you did better than most. :)

Congrats on a good buck. I think a lot people that have t spent time out there before the hunt have too high of expectations. There are some great bucks out there just not as many as before! Way to get it done.

That is a fine Bookcliff buck.
