I heard a guy killed a big oak creek buck when I say big I mean like 245" big, anyone know the story on this buck?

I've just heard second hand so far. I'm sure the story will be told in sacrament meeting tomorrow (here in Oak City) it may have to wait until Elders quorum before I get full details, so I'll be sure and tell you after that ;-)

Apparantly this buck was killed by a younger kid and not the same deer or story I had heard of originally. Sounds like there were a few nice bucks taken. Not sure what religion this deer was ;-)

LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-15 AT 10:02PM (MST)[p]I saw a big oak creek buck on facebook. I don't think I could post a photo, I don't know the person at all.

legacy that is the buck I saw.

If that's an Oak Creek Buck, I think its the first one I've ever seen posted or referenced here on MM. We just don't hear about them off that unit very often. I'm guessing it'll get more pressure now. LOL

And, at least for me, this buck comes with the little "*" as it was killed by a hunting company. It's just not as cool. For me at least.

Hello all,
Been a long time follower. I am the lucky one who killed this awesome deer you are talking about. Just want to set the rumors straight before they get out of hand. I drew this tag and spent everyday I had off from work on that mountain. Went through two pair of boots trying to find a buck I wanted. My good friend chad and I scouted together a lot. Chad guides for WLH. I had found some bucks throughout the year that I wanted to keep tabs on. Chad told me about this buck in July. Throughout the week I was searching for one of my bucks on my hit list. Chad let me know that he had found this giant a week before the hunt I went into the area and found him the night before opener. If it wasn't for chad and Kendall and the rest of my friends and family it wouldn't have happen. It's a buck of a lifetime. I gave chad permission for Kalan to put his watermark on the picture Kalan is a good guy and runs a good outfitting business. I hope you all will respect me and not put pictures up yet. I know it's all over Facebook but those people I have given permission to. I am on cloud nine on killing a buck that I have dreamed about my whole life. Thanks again guys.

>....fair to assume the shooter isn't
>catholic??

Well guys here he is with my brother n law and his boy. My camera got ruined in the process of trying to get photos with all the rain. I'm waiting on other pictures. But like people have said once it's on the internet it's on there. This hunt was one to remember I had my family there along with good friends to help bring this giant down. I can't say thanks enough to all those that was so willing to help me. Thanks again guys.

Awesome buck! I use to chukar hunt Oak creek in December and January quit a bit, saw lots of bucks but never anything close to that big. Congrats.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-27-15 AT 07:27PM (MST)[p]Beautiful buck, it'd be easier to see his character and mass if you weren't sitting on the ridge behind him when you took the picture lol.

if you will read the other post that will answer your question aboutWLH. But I will explain it again. My good friend who I scouted with all summer long guides for WLH . I had given them permission to put their watermark on the picture for reasons. Kalan is a good guy and they run a good outfit. I worked hard to earn this buck.

C'mon Bess I would rather kill 170-180 bucks every year than to hire a guide! When I do draw a good tag I will still do it alone. It's a dandy buck great job!
