That's kinda like me asking if I'll ever Draw an Elk Tag!:D

Next year if application numbers stay the same, there will be 9 people with 22 points fighting for 1 tag given to the highest point group....

Other than that, hope your one of the two people to get the random draw for the other two tags. Odds are somewhere in the 1/2100 range.

If I drew, I'd rather go on my own. I get much more satisfaction taking a deer that I did all the work for, rather than having someone else find it and take me to it.

You are more than 100 years away from being in the bonus pool for the rifle tag. ML and archery don't have a bonus pool so you have as good as shot as anyone else pretty much. You could be in the running for the 1 bonus tag for the management hunt, though.

"....so you're sayin' there's a chance?" LMAO

Sorry to say, there are just some tags that a guy will never draw! There are a few like that in my world but I usually apply in easier to draw units since I'd rather hunt than simply collect points!

I've had the chance to hunt the Henry's numerous time back when it was a great general season unit. It's not so much fun now I cannot ever hunt it.

I'm a few points ahead of you. I plan to move to Utah when I retire so my points will move me to the Res. side. Just a thought if your heart is set on the Henry's

If you are wanting the rifle tag, the truth is, there are 66 people with more BP than you. There are also 36 people with the same number as you. So, if all those remain consistent moving forward, with 1 tag awarded each year, you will be guaranteed the tag in 2118. :-(

You could get lucky with one of the other 2 random draw tags. Your odds slightly better than 2/4195 (as BPs are only a slight benefit in the random draw and I didn't want to do all that math).

If you're set on hunting the Henry's, it looks like you would have an exceptional shot at the Management Tag. You would have drawn it this year (2015) if you had put in with your 16 BPs. And there are some giant "Management Bucks".

Draw the tag first, then worry about a guide or DIY, or horses, because the chances are you won't draw in your lifetime :)

The management route is a thought if you just want to get on that MT. , but with that many points you could look at a different unit and shoot a 4pt, albeit your chance at a 200" buck are not as good as the Henrys...

Drawing a Henry's tag would be awesome! So would winning the lottery. Both are a long shot. Have you considered some of the other great deer units in Utah? What type of hunt are you looking for? What is your expectation for type of buck? PM me if you are interested and I would be happy to give you some input on killer options for that many points. It all just depends on what your preferences are. If you have your heart set on the Henry's, stick with it. Just know that you have options.

thanks gies. i kinda figured i might never draw this tag.i have applied in the paus on some years. thank again for your input.
