Let's see some of your snowy, cold deer hunt trip pics.

A guy today PMed me about hunting with or without horses and it got me to thinking about backpack hunting a couple of years ago and how cold it was, and how long the pack trip in was.
Tough to stay dry on these trips. I was soaked with sweat when I hit that ridge just before daylight and never dried out until I was back home.

Dang Founder,That looks C-O-L-D.

I was so cold on an Idaho elk hunt one time that I actually built a fire! It's got to be really cold for me to build a fire in elk country. sorry, no pics to share right now.

Yes, that's me. I don't like building a fire at all, but when you're cold and wet in the back country, got to do it sometimes.

Dang the weather sometimes!
I know exactly what you mean, Robiland, about needing time to get back to yourself because of the weather!
Extreme cold, wet or heat can do a real number on a guy!

Got to parallel this little guy while elk hunting one day. Never knew I was there, got to within 30 yards a couple times. Sure helped get/stay warm for awhile, was around zero that day.

This was a cold day in the blind, the high was somewhere around zero to -5, was a great time though!

The two pics below are what we shot at literally the exact same time. Dad and I were a mile apart, both shot our animals in their bed and both of us had a follow up shot. Neither of us heard the other shoot and both got on the radios to say we had one. We turned the radios on with in a few seconds of each other :)

This pic is from when we went 4 for 4 on bulls opening morning before noon. Was a cold and miserable couple days, had one guy sleep on the mountain in rain/snow and then two of us packed out 3 1/4 bulls in a 24 hour period using the horse and pack frame.

For sure, hunting in MT a couple years ago, I went down into a hell hole and got all sweaty coming back up. Was soaked, had to start a fire strip down to boxer shorts in the snow storm and dry my clothes out. Was a little miserable but better than the alternative... Only time I ever had to do that, sure it was a funny sight if someone had walked by though :)

Got hit with an early snowstorm in September 2013 while bowhunting for elk in the Wyoming backcountry.

I spent almost 12 hours in the hammock shown in this picture while it snowed and snowed - ended up with about a foot of snow and very cold temps. My rain tarp over my hammock was weighed down pretty good with snow, but I stayed warm and dry thankfully. Luckily I took a book with me in my backpack to read during the storm. 12 hours in a hammock is a LONG time with nothing to do!!
