Shoot! Or isn't he big enough?
You've got about 25 seconds to hit the dirt, look this buck over and get a shot off before he's gone for good. Could you be quick enough? Is he a taker?

That is a tough one! I could definitely be fast enough depending on where I was hunting and what tag I had in my pocket. I agree that he is right there close to 180", great fronts and a little weak on the back, decent mass. If I had a great tag and it was early in the hunt, he might have got away!

I agree with the above posts. It depends on what tag I have and my time frame during my hunt. To me...he's a shooter in any general season unit.

Very probable I would shoot. From that view he looks to be over 180 but not over 185. When I first watched the video I got the feel of a not quite old enough deer but after looking more he does look fairly mature. I think if I didn't shoot it would be because of that and I would probably be kicking myself for weeks after.

Thanks for sharing.

Boom, buck down. Wouldn't even take me 25 seconds to decide to shoot him. Unless i had a AZ strip tag, Henrys tag or some statewide tag i could hunt the whole year.

a lot bigger then anything I have shot before.

Dont pass on the first what you would shoot on the last.. Or something like that.. A very hard pass for me.. I think he is right close to 180" but not over.. Let him walk

I'd stick an arrow in his ribs, but I'd likely pass him in rifle season. He's a solid buck and I agree with the assessments, but he'll be better next year.

I would shoot. He would fit nicely on my wall...

He is the type of buck that gets past, because of width. He scores well, due to height and those deep forks. Boom, unless it is the first day or two and I've scouted and I know there is better in the area. Very well could eat tag soup if I pass.

Yes with a bow, no with a rifle for me. I would say he is a solid 175" maybe as high as 180". Beautiful buck!!

Although not very wide or "impressive", that buck is deceptive on score; he'd go higher than a lot of folks think with the front forks & eyeguards. Shot a similar buck in CO that netted b&C awards and grossed 194".

What's the Coordinates on that Buck gonna Cost?

Oh you're funny elkassassin.
When I found this buck, he would have just been one of the "others" in the area of a 190ish (189-3/4 typical to be exact) buck. I'd tell a hunter to hunt the 190, then if late in their hunt they had an itchy finger and this one offered some shoulder, to do what they like. I ain't judging anyone. They can take what looks good to them.
My buddy did like this buck and would have shot him on opening day. This video is from the day before the rifle hunt opened. But he ended up shooting another one that was 28 inches wide on opening morning.
It was a great place to camp with water and even horse feed near the bucks and not too many other hunters. Rare type of spot.

Really tough one. If that's all the time I had, he probably would have gotten away...and I may have kicked myself later if I never saw him again. One of those "right on the edge" bucks.

He's pushin the 180" mark, I'd be shootin for sure..!!

with 3 inch eye guards good mass and great forks especially fronts I would say that buck would gross 185 to 192. He scores better than many would think.

Heck yeah. Beautiful animal. For me it doesn't matter if it's 170, 180, or 200. If I like the size and shape I will take it. I would rather have a beautiful set of antlers, than one that scores higher but doesn't look as nice. Now, about those coordinates.... :)

As far as if i would shoot that buck, yes, i would. I think he's a dandy 180" type buck, maybe not quite that but close.

I think many here take it for granted that they would have plenty of time to get done whats needed to put this buck on the ground but Founder asked and i'll say this: I'm seeing more and more, guys that are not used to their equipment and having to double and triple check everything before they are close to shooting. I'd guess about half the guys that read here would not get a good killing shot off before he moved or went over the hill given the length of time in that video.

Id Kill it. But I am coming off a 2015 Idaho rut hunt where I ate my tag. I saw a similar size deer, passed and never did turn anything else up any better. Its been 6 months and I am still having a hard time with it.
