Nevada 221-223 Rifle Deer Oct. 17-31

I posted this in the Nevada forum also but afterwards thought I might have a better response here.

A friend of mine drew this rifle deer tag. He invited me along. I have never hunted outside my home state of Idaho but have lately been tempted to experience new places and opportunities. I'm only interested in finding and hunting big bucks (180" and up). Is this a good opportunity to hunt with my friend for big bucks? Or is this more of an average hunt and I'll be better off seeing what I can find here in Idaho with my general tag?

One of the best units in NV. All NV Deer hunts are quality, no comparison at all to a general season Idaho hunt.

Your friend drew BUT did you draw Deer also? I did not see where you said you drew but want to hunt with him.

THERE ARE NO OTC TAGS IN NEVADA. You can tag along but can not hunt. 221-222 has some rugged terrain so have good maps also GPS. Have a good hunt.

That's a tough tag to draw. I'm guessing you are misunderstanding him. He probably wants you to tag along and help. You will not be hunting. If you like looking at big deer this should be a good unit to do it.

This is a great unit and a great hunt. You should be able to find and hunt some big bucks! Congrats to your friend.

In all honesty how many 180 + bucks do you see coming from any unit in Nevada,yes it has great hunting! Yes you will see a lot of bucks typically,but big bucks being a dime a dozen I don't see it very often from the average joes.

Well I think what he is asking: is are there 180" bucks there. Yes there is some bruisers on that unit. Are they under every tree? No but they are there and this unit will put out 200" bucks.thats why it
Takes so many points to draw. its a rugged area so it won't be easy access and etc but if you put the work in there in and hunt hard you should see some nice bucks there with the potential of a monster or two.

There's more 180+ buck than you think that hit the dirt. In the last 3 years I have been on 4 over 180 out of different units just comes down to if a person want to hunt big deer or kill the first one they find either way is fine but every unit in Nv in my opinion has 180+ type bucks in it. Just my opinion though
