How much more to grow?

I found a good looking buck that I estimate would be around the 160 ish mark right now. How much more could he potentially grow?

It was a BRUTAL hike in so debating on going to check on him again before the hunt starts! :)

What state? If it's Utah what part of the state north, central, south. I keep seeing people's game cam pics and such on here and notice that some deer and elk are way bigger than the ones I have seen in the southern part of Utah on my cameras. I know some of the deer I have on my cameras will be bigger than they are now because I have sheds from one deer from the past three years. He seems to be starting out slow but should finish in the 180's .

I was in SE Idaho this weekend and I'm guessing there 90 to 95 percent done, so a few more inches or less on the back end.

I'm in Northern Utah and in my experience they typically grow until about mid August. Some say their antlers grow up to 1/2" per day but from mid July to August I think they slow down a lot and are maybe growing 1/4" per day. That said, they have about 21-30 days left to grow so he might put on another 5-8 inches total and top out around 165-170. I'm not biologist though so I may be wrong. I'm sure a lot of it depends on how harsh the winter was and when they started getting good nutrients in the spring.

Similar question. I saw a really cute girl, probably about 18. How close to a ten will she be when shes 21?

Good HE!! Yelum, why wait? She's a 10 now and will probably be a 10 at age 21 and it usually goes downhill from there but it's kind of a case by case like mule deer and hard to judge what will happen.

I think some geographic locals have slightly different growing seasons but me thinks it's more the individual buck's DNA rather than painting them all with a broad brush.
Just my 2 cents based on nothing more than limited observations.

My observation is it depends way more on the deer than the region. Some bucks in groups I've seen have been done growing for a week, others have a decent amount of growing to do. Deer by deer scenario. I also believe for the most part the older mature bucks grow further into the year, not always but most of the time. If they are heavy and knobbed they have some inches to put on, if they are spindly and more or less pointed at the tips they are basically done.

I have found that they are a lot like deer. She will probably put on mass with age.
