Not really, saw about 12. Two spikes and a dink two point. Got there Friday evening, left Sunday. No tracks or droppings anywhere. Searched high and low on west side of the unit. Was out daybreak to dark Saturday and only found five deer. So I guess three baby bucks and nine does is close to DWRs 40 bucks to 100 does ratio. Any help would be appreciated!

JUDAS!

You know how they come up with that Buck to Doe Ratio,Right?

3 Bucks & 8 Does is what was counted Last Fall!

To get it in to Perspective the Multiplying number is 13 just to get it to: so many Bucks per 100 Does!

Ridgetops, you a funny guy?! That is my plan for the next trip though. Slam,it's not under subscribed. It may be the most difficult general to draw. You know, with the 40 to 100 ratio and all.

That was one discouraging post, I'll be searching end of Sept with my Muzzy. Oh well...main purpose of applying for tag was to force me to make the trip to Utah . Hoping to spend a week or so prior to deer hunt scouting elk on the Boulder and maybe La Sal . Really looking forward to elk hunting with my camera and make the best of the muzzy deer hunt.

Upon a 2nd look at the updated odds, it took 1 point to draw last year.

On the late cow elk hunt we saw a lot of great bucks. But of course there was snow on the ground and they where rutting.

Any wisdom as to where I should start when bucks are still in velvet? My first thoughts are up high but a buddy pointed me to low country around alfalfa fields?

We saw one Saturday Morning that would go maybe 145" by Floating Island Lake. I was a bit surprised at how few of deer I saw. I also saw an average 3x3 in the same area. Not much help but I guess its something.

Hey thanks Fishnut, I'll have to look at my map. Not sure where that is. Looks like a good area, lots of feed and water. Never saw any elk sign either. Like I always say..."they gotta be somewhere and probably are"
