In 2014, my grandfather gave me his old model 70 Winchester. I really thought it would be cool to take a nice buck with it so I set out on a mission to accomplish that goal. As I neared the end of the season the frustration was beginning to set in. Many of the bucks I had scouted in the summer had disappeared into the timber or had gone home in another hunters truck. But, as hunting goes, a couple fleeting moments of luck turned it all around.

Heck of a buck! That is great you were able to do it with your granpas gun too :)

It sounds like the high country units in Wyoming have been tougher this year than years prior, but its hard to believe that when I've seen a steady stream of big buck photos come out of there. Your buck has got to be one of the most perfect typical's I've ever seen. Really a buck to be proud of. Congratulations.

Great buck and great story about the rifle also.

Show us a photo of the rifle. I bet it has character.

Great buck. Looks close to a Booner. Way to go and anything you did I'm sure your grandpa was watching. Cool story.

Great buck Paul. We killed twins(ok, yours is bigger) about 15 miles apart. Congrats. Let's do it again next year, but with elk.
