Haven't been on in awhile, been hunting! I've only been home for 5 nights since sept 30. Just retired, and what a great start! Got these bucks in wyoming, idaho, and utah. Feel pretty lucky, been hunting 50 years this year, and these are the in the top 10 bucks I've ever gotten. Feel even more fortunate that they were all one shot kills. No tracking or drama involved. All are from general units, with not much trophy potential. And although I realize these are not "book" size deer, they are way beyond what I expected, so again I feel real lucky. Biologist said wyoming buck was to old to age, and was missing most of his teeth

Congrads on both your retirement and those great bucks! I too have been hunting a long time...60 years and have enjoyed it beyond my expectations. My biggest bucks came when I was a teenager in Grand Junction. I have taken some nice ones since but nothing as big as when I was young. I am now pretty easy to please and hunt for mature "eating" meat! You are going to have a blast the next few decades! Make the most of every chance you get. We just don't know how many more sunrises we are going to enjoy.

Nice Job!

Them Look like some Good Sized Bullets as well!

Sweet bucks! Congrats on all accounts. Just out of curiosity, which one in which state? Curious what a buck that is too old to age looks like.

Good for you Mr. Goldberg! Congratulations on your retirement too. Wishing you many more years of hunting.

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys. I appreciate it!
Yep, that's an illegal 4whlr trail! Dont think i wasnt tempted to use it! And them bullets are just the right size!
The top buck was from wyoming, k, and had a huge body. Game bio said he was regressing, but he didn't LOOK old to me, but for sure his teeth were missing. No front teeth, upper molars worn to gums. I'm guessing poor genes, so not much mass in his rack. I felt lucky to get him. Middle buck from idaho, spotted him at 1300 yards, slipped up to 350, shot him in his bed!
Last buck from utah, and was EXTREMELY lucky to get him. Spotted him about a mile away, got to 137 yards, shot him offhand. Could not get a rest, all I could see was neck and head. I was doing a pile of rabbit hunting last winter. I think that really helped my shooting!

congrats on your hunts....hope you don't get too bored in retirement during the off season like me....then you'll sit around and give everybody on MM a bad time like me...HEHEHE

I retired last year and it has been great. I wish I had been retired when I drew my moose permit a couple of years ago. It would have saved a lot on gas expenses. The biggest problem now is that I mostly hunt with my son in Wyoming, and he isn't retired, so that crimps things a lot. I still have mostly short hunts and burn up a lot of gas coming and going.

Those are three great bucks. A lot of hunters never even see bucks like that, let along get three of them in one year. I'm sure you worked hard and were well deserving of all of them.
