We spent 7 fun days in and around kanab 2 learning the roads and country and 5 full days sunup till sundown hunting.
My dad had passed on many small bucks and a really nice fork if he would have been 28 inch he would have probably shot for sure.

first light of the last day we found a giant of a 4x3 but we couldn't get our dad on him, he was within rifle range for a average hunter ,but being 72 with arthritis, numb fingers and failing eye site and the low light conditions he never could see him in the scope to even attempt a shot at 325 yards. We then tried to get closer but it didn't work out we got to within 150 yards we found the other bucks but the big guy snuck out.
It all came down to the last 45 minuets, sun going down all three of us even though we never said a thing to each other knew it was tag soup,we came around a bend in the road to head back to where the 4x3 was at first light and there he was,not the same 4x3 but defiantly a buck he was not going to pass up,my dad's one and only Utah hunt proved to be awesome.

That looks like a first minute management buck to me :) Congrats to your Dad on getting a great buck. Good thing about it taking till last minute of last day, is you have that many more memories with him :D

Dang nice buck, and for sure a great time with yer dad! You may get a better buck one day, but you won't get many more hunts with the old man! You get no do-overs! Nicely done!

He ended up with a STUD buck, management or not..!! Thanks for sharing..!!
